Saskatchewan, Canada is truly a watefowlers paradise, theres a reason its long been known as the Land of the Living Skies as during the fall it comes alive with literally 100’s of 1000’s of migrant waterfowl heading south for the winter. To witness the migration in full affect is an awe aspiring experience let alone before any hunting even comes into the equation! The sheer volume of birds flooding across this beautiful landscape is something that every waterfowl hunter should experience once in their lifetime. However we are pretty sure once you make your first trip North this wont be the last time you’ll wish to visit this amazing destination!
After years of searching for what we believe should be the very epitome of a First Class Canadian Waterfowl Outfitter we have finally found the right operation to work with. Nestled outside the village of Clair our outfitter operates within the famous Quill Lakes region and some of the finest waterfowl hunting adventures await you!
Both mixed Fall and Spring Snow hunts will produce some world class hunting opportunities for the travelling hunter, the question will be which do you want to experience first?! In the fall (September to October) there are ample chances to shoot liberal limits of species such as Geese, Ducks and Cranes on mixed hunts so it can be possible to shoot some or all of the above mentioned on the same hunt depending on month, bird patterns and weather! Canadas, Specks (Whitefronts), Ross and snows are the targeted geese while a mixture of ducks can be possible such as Mallards, American Wigeon, Pintail and Gadwall. Those Jurrasic park esk Cranes also play a huge part in making this a real mixed species location and combined with some of the highest limits in the US this sets has the potential for amazing hunts. However as always these are as wild as they come, there are no fences in the sky and birds will be birds! Our outfitters will always do the best they can and control every variable possible but for the birds we need a little bit of lady luck.
The spring sees the return of the snows on their way back to the Tundra for breeding and some of the most incredible snow goose hunting can take place once they cross back into Canada! Hunting adult snows which can be a lot tougher in the South becomes a little more pleasant where they seem to lose their inhibitions and be a lot more decoy friendly! Not quite the same hunting as mag extensions aren’t allowed and huge spins aren’t quite the norm but with steady smaller flocks of feet dragging adults over the decoys whats not to like?! You’ll make those 3 shots count and with snows in your face over their full DSD spreads it can be absolute banger of a time with the only difference to the fall being its just snows that you can hunt in the spring. With a solid limit of 20 birds per person it can lead for some awesome hunting.
With top shelf hunting its only natural to expect first class lodging and without a doubt our outfitter has this covered with an incredible set up of just what youd expect in Canada. The Wooden lodge theme runs throughout the entire camp and it sets the tone for an awesome Canadian experience with this truly world class operation. Their attention to care and detail extends across the entirety of the camp and the food, hospitality and service is second to none. You truly will be staying at a home away from home and the lodge team cant do enough to take care of everyone and exceed client expectations.
Hunting will take place as morning and afternoon hunts and the hunts will focus on the best possible species inline with weather conditions ahead of the week. We will tailor each and every trip based on groups wishes for specific species inline with months to ensure you have the best possible chance to hunt what you are after.
