They say once you’ve been bitten by the Africa bug you cant keep away, we’d agree that there is never a more true word spoken! This is one of the most beautiful and game rich lands youll see on this earth, whether this is your first African safari or you’re a seasoned visitor our outfitter has something special waiting for you! The opportunities available here truly make this a trip that can be suitable for everyone from families to those long term hunting groups, packages can combine the best of plains and big game, wing shooting, fishing and safari tours as well as a whole host of other amazing activities! With hunting taking place during our Spring/Summer months it offers some great hunting opportunities from February to July.  Come and see what South Africa is all about, we’d bet it might not be the last time you visit either…

South Africa is best known for its Plains and Big Game hunting and its no surprise as the diverse amount of huntable game is truly incredible, from the coast to the mountains there is some of the most amazing vast landscapes populated by carefully managed free range game! Our outfitter we work with thrives on providing some of the most rewarding, challenging and a memorable experiences for our groups and we all love nothing more than tailoring each safari to suit the groups specifically.  Whether this is your first trip or your 10th we want to be sure you get the most out of it as we are all about creating adventures! We recommend at least 7-10 days to ensure you have plenty time to target your specific animals as our camps and lodges will most likely be planned round the best areas to hunt particular species.  Our outfitter has access to tens of thousands of acres across many concessions within and out with South Africa so they pride themselves in being able to deliver the best possible services and hunting situations.  Animals of course are as wild as they come but they will do there hardest to help you get those trophies in the salt.  Our outfitter has a great team and the PH’s all have different specialities from bow hunters to big game enthusiasts you will be in safe hands with these guys.  We haven’t included a list of animals available to hunt as our guys endeavour to be able to put you onto whatever you require but please don’t hesitate to reach out for specifics anytime.

As well as being a plains and big game purist our outfitter has a big passion for waterfowl hunting and aims to share some of the finest waterfowling Africa has to offer.  Hunting takes place across a vast expanse of ground from the dairy farms of the coast to the inland maize fields and many ponds and dams scattered throughout the lands! It can be possible to target a bunch of different species so this can be an ideal location for bucket list hunters or those just wishing to add on some other hunts to a trip.  Whether you are there for a stand alone waterfowl week or adding a little variety to your safari you’ll be in for some fun hunts! Hunting can take place across a number of different regions and again they will be specifically coordinated around species your group wishes to hunt.  We want this to be more than just a hunt but a full waterfowl hunting adventure!

Morning hunts are usually set up for hunting Egyptian and Spurwing Geese and are hunted from A frame style blinds over spreads of shell decoys and rotaries.  More often than not hunts take place over a few different feeds and hunters are set up in a number of locations to keep birds moving around.  This style of hunting can lead to some super fun hunts and is definitely something that should be considered for those who have hunted everything else!

Afternoon/evening hunts will tend to take place over water similar to Scotland and this will depend on bird patterns/behaviour whether its an afternoon or evening shoot but usually the focus is on ducks! Again some amazing species such as White faced whistlers, Yellow Bills, Red Billed Teal, Cape Shoveler, Cape Teal and African shell duck! Now for his real collectors Pygmy Geese (still a duck species) can be arranged, get with us to be able to put together a dream trip hunting waterfowl in some of the most quirky places!

Without a doubt some of the best hunting you can experience is for Doves and Pigeons and South Africa is know stranger to having some world class wing shooting for these fast and furious birds! Our outfitter has access to some phenomenal areas across south Africa and hunting the sun flower fields can lead to extremely memorable hunts.  For the real wing shooting enthusiast we can offer stand alone bird hunting trips or again mix this in for those wanting to experience everything Africa has to offer! Hunts will tend to take place during a morning and afternoon as the birds leave their roost sites  to head out to feed in the many arable fields.  This might not be Argentina but it produces probably some of the next best pigeon and dove hunting as the flights of birds can be absolutely incredible.  Watching wave after wave of birds coming zipping over the sun flower fields is an amazing experience.  It can be very common to shoot a few cases of shells per hunter when things are really on fire and we cant recommend this experience enough.

South Africa is home to some extremely fun upland hunting for the likes of various Partridge, Francolin and Guineafowl! We can help put together some fun hunts again as part of a full wing shooting package or to combine with other planned hunts.  The majority of hunts are over teams of pointers and they can produce some awesome sport for the wing shooting enthusiasts, generous limits and some amazing terrain to explore make for a great time in the field! Along with hunts over the dog teams it can be possible to put together some Driven Guineafowl hunts where just like in Scotland/Europe teams of beaters will push out the arable and bush cover to flush out the Guinea to the standing guns.  This can be a lot of fun and we definitely recommend adding this on to any other trips that might be planned from June onwards.

As well as hunting South Africa has some absolutely incredible fishing experiences for the seasoned angler and whether its fresh water or salt there is something here for you.  Our outfitter works with some great folks and they will be able to tailor something specifically to suit your needs but for adding on to combined trips we cant recommend the reef fishing enough.  Some extremely generous limits means amazing opportunities for bringing fish back to be cooked at camp.  As long as the seas are kind and the charter can run there can be some awesome bottom fishing to be head for various species.

We look forward to answering any further questions about this breath taking destination and as always encourage all our teams to build their package to suit their needs.
